Robert Franklin Curtis March 30, 1929- Jan. 15, 2017

Robert Franklin Curtis, 87, a native of South Dakota and resident of Grand Prairie, passed from this life to life eternal on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017 at his residence.

He was born March 30, 1929, the oldest of three children, to the late Claude Virgil Curtis and the late Hazel Mae Franklin Curtis.

After his graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving a tour of duty during the Korean War.

After his service, Mr. Curtis moved to Sweet Home, where he spent his working career as a tree faller. His job allowed him to be in the outdoors that he loved.

Any free time was devoted to hunting or fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alice Blanco Curtis; children Alice Faye Curtis Marocco and her spouse Phil, Michael Curtis, Cindy Cheek and her spouse Ken, and Kathy Long; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Curtis; sister, Virginia Johnson; and his beloved cat, Trixie.

A graveside service was held Jan. 24 at Dallas–Fort Worth National Cemetery in Texas.
