June 10, 1968 – Feb. 2, 2018
Robert Elwin Gourley, 49, of Foster died Feb. 2, 2018 in Albany.
He was born June 10, 1968 in Lebanon, the third son of Jack Elwin Gourley and Betty Beatrice Taylor.
Mr. Gourley had a keen mind and a sharp wit. He loved animals and the outdoors. He was an electrician, a photographer, a computer master and excellent cook, and anything he set his mind to do he did well.
He married Tammi Taylor on June 1, 1991 in the Portland Oregon Temple. She preceded him in death in September 2008.
He married Nataliya Zolotous of Ukraine in 2015.
Robert was a dedicated father and son. His great will power carried him over two decades in his battle with cancer, to the amazement of several doctors and specialists. He was given “two days to two weeks to live” several times, but survived to be with his family.
He was a good example, a scriptorian and leader. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Robert is survived by his five children – daughters Ashley Allsworth of Washington, Jessica Geis of Utah, and Kaitlyn Gourley of Foster; sons Robert Gourley of Utah and Nathan Gourley of Foster; a granddaughter; mother Betty Gourley of Foster; brother Larry Gourley of Albany; sister Jeanette Graves of Foster; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Gourley; sister Cheryl Gourley; and brother John Gourley.
Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, in the Relief Society Room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweet Home. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Final burial will be at the Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
