Robert Louis Davis, 85, of Sweet Home died on Nov. 17, 2008.
He was born on Nov. 4, 1923 in Bremond, Texas, to Robert and Ora Davis.
Mr. Davis was a World War II veteran. He served from 1942 to 1952 in the U.S. Army. He served in the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy invasion, where he held the position of staff sergeant.
Mr. Davis was a member of the Sweet Home Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3437.
He is survived by his son Robert M. Davis; daughters Shirley Trahan, Denise Rhodes and Pamela Rosarioreyes; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha J. Davis in 1986, son Ronald Davis in 1997 and daughter Barbara Springer Ciarlanti in 2007.
Services were held at the Sweet Home VFW Hall on Nov. 22. He was buried at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
