Robert L. “Bob” Vaughan, 59 of Albany, formerly of Sweet Home and Molalla, died Thursday, Oct. 27 at a Salem hospital.
Mr. Vaughan was born July 13, 1946 in Sweet Home, the son of Charles and Francis Bland Vaughan. He grew up in Sweet Home and graduated from Sweet Home High School with the class of 1964. He worked in the sawmills for several years before becoming a custodian for the Molalla High School, where he lived for 31 years before moving to Albany in 2001, where he attended South Albany Community Church.
He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, RC cars and boats. He volunteered at lookout buildings and helped rebuild the Sand Mountain Lookout near Hoodoo.
He is survived by a twin sister, Roberta Wallston of Albany, and brothers Charles Vaughan of Sweet Home and Eugene Vaughan of Springfield. He had numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Gilliland Cemetery. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling the arragements.
