Robert Brendle

Robert Lee Brendle, 90, of Sweet Home, passed away April 10, 2026.
He was born June 13, 1935, to Florence Lee (Stubbs) and Thomas Harry Brendle in Vernonia.
He lived in Oregon most of his life and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1953. He was in the Army from 1957 to 1959. Robert was a lab technician/scientist in research and development. He was a member of the Oregon Small Woodlands Association and Tree Farm System.
Robert liked art sculptures, paintings and poetry. He also enjoyed tree farming. His favorite quote was “If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right”
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Brendle of Sweet Home; children Robert L. Brendle, Jr and wife Katherine of Portland, Ken Leyson and wife Leisha, and Carrie Weninger of Federal Way, Wash., four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael James Brendle (2026); his sister Barbara; and his brothers William (Bill) and James (Jim).
