Robert Points

Robert D. Points, 84, of Woodburn and formerly of Sweet Home died on Nov. 22, 2008.
Points was born in Allerton, Iowa, on March 5, 1924. He lived in Nebraska and Arkansas before moving to Oregon in 1940. He lived in Nyssa and Sweet Home.
He worked as a maintenance carpenter with the public school district in Sweet Home and was also a logger. He retired in 1987 and moved to Woodburn seven years ago.
He married Donaline Points on Aug. 25, 1947 in Vancouver, Wash. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Woodburn Christian Church, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Donaline of Woodburn; daughters, Connie Brooks of Independence and Lynda Strom of Hubbard; brother, Thomas Points of Boise, Idaho; and sister, Deloris Lahhy of Nyssa; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Woodburn Christian Church on Saturday.
