Roberta “Robbie” VavRosky Kruesi, 75, of Sweet Home died peacefully Jan. 11, 2022, at Conifer House Memory Center in Corvallis, surrounded by family.
She was born Nov. 1, 1946 in Vancouver, Wash., to James G. and Ruth Mary (O’Brien) VavRosky.
The family lived in Woodland, Wash., until the death of her mother. They moved to Sweet Home when she was 7, and attended Sweet Home Schools, graduating High School with the class of 1964.
Mrs. Kruesi attended Albany Beauty School and later taught classes there. She owned and operated Cut & Curl Beauty Salon in Sweet Home in the 1970s, ran a daycare in her home and worked at White’s Electronics – first in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth White Sr. as an assistant, and then in the office in marketing.
Mrs. Kruesi loved music and dancing, traveling, swimming, camping, fishing and anything social. She volunteered at the Oregon Jamboree and worked the median strips for City Beautification. She was a loving mother and sister. She left behind many long-time friends.
She is survived by her son, Ryan Kruesi and daughter-in-law Heather of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister Sherrie Jo and brother-in-law Michael Frank of Philomath; brothers Ronald and sister-in-law Darlene VavRosky of Sweet Home, and Mike and sister-in-law Linda VavRosky of Julietta, Idaho; stepmother Frances (VavRosky) Graf of Lewiston, Idaho; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kruesi was preceded in death by her daughter, Mindy Jo Kruesi; parents James and Ruth VavRosky; and brother Roger VavRosky.
A graveside service follow will be at 11 a.m Mondy, Jan. 24, at Lewis Cemetery.
