Rodeo still on but help needed

Editor:

Sweet Home residents need to know that, without their help, the Sweet Home Rodeo will not exist.

The rodeo board is working very hard to keep the rodeo going in Sweet Home. It takes community support. Without your help in supporting the rodeo, it will simply go away.

The rodeo started out as the Calapooia Roundup in Crawfordsville in the early 1920s and then moved to 4001 Long St. in 1998, when it was renamed the Sweet Home Rodeo. This rodeo has been around a long time. It would be a shame to lose all the history that comes with the rodeo.

The Sweet Home Rodeo needs your help to continue. The all-volunteer board members and workers work all year long to put this rodeo on. It takes a lot of man-hours and hard work. However, all of us enjoy it. When we see people come in and enjoy themselves, it’s all worth it.

I do not know how Sweet Home could let a huge part of history like this rodeo just go away and die.

If you would like to help us keep the rodeo alive, we have our meetings at 7 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at All-Star Pizza.
