Roommate sought in connection with Albany man’s death

An Albany man was found dead in his home Friday night, and police are now looking for both his roommate and his car.

The Albany police and fire departments were dispatched shortly after 9 p.m. Friday to a house in the 500 block of 26th Avenue SE, responding to a report of an unconscious male. Upon arriving, they discovered the body of 75-year-old Elvin “Al” Pierce.

An ongoing investigation into the incident has revealed that Pierce died from homicidal violence, police reported.

Detectives are now searching for Pierce’s roommate, 42-year-old Elizabeth “Liz” Nicole Tyler Jimenez, and his vehicle, a tan/beige, four-door 2004 Buick Park Avenue with Oregon license plates 081FAX.

Jimenez has not yet been questioned, and her current whereabouts are unknown. Police said she was not at the house when they arrived.

According to investigators, Jimenez is known to frequent soup kitchens. She may be currently unemployed, they said, although she’s believed to have skills as a seamstress and masseuse. They advise that neither she nor the suspected vehicle be approached if found; call 911 immediately.

Anyone with information about this investigation or who may have had recent contact with either Pierce or Tyler is encouraged to contact the Albany Police Department at (541) 917-7680 or Albany Police Department Investigations Lt. Buck Pearce at (541) 917-3209.
