Students at 23 sites in the Philippines received some 16,000 textbooks as the result of a project started by Sweet Home couple Juan and Donna Ulep with the help of Oregon State Defense Force and Rotary Club members around the state.
“How it got started in 1998, we asked the curriculum director of Sweet Home School District (Jan Sharp) if they would have books that are second-hand and not needed any more,” Mr. Ulep said.…
