Roy Dean Rowe, 70, passed away on Oct. 1, 2021 in his home in Hillsboro.
A memorial service will be held on Nov. 7, 2021, at the River House, Rood Bridge Park, Hillsboro.
Roy was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
His family eventually moved to Sweet Home where Roy attended high school. He graduated in 1968 with his best friend, Jack Hankins. Roy and Jack attended Linn-Benton Community then transferred to Oregon College of Education. He graduated from OCE in 1972 with a teaching credential and earned his master of arts in 1976.
Roy and DiAnne Fentress married on Sept 1, 1973.
Roy worked as a book buyer, seller and book store manager for many years prior to working at Hewlett Packard in Corvallis. He left HP in 2001 to move to Lake Oswego, where DiAnne was a school administrator.
Roy and DiAnne settled down in Hillsboro, where they lived for many years.
Roy played on the Corvallis Hawaiian Shirts Trivia Team weekly for over 30 years. He loved his Oregon State Beavers, especially the women’s gymnastics team, and attended meets with the same group of friends for 35 years. Roy was a fan of Portland Timbers and Thorns. Roy also loved crossword puzzles and sudokus.
Roy is survived by his wife, DiAnne of Hillsboro; and sons Bart, 41, of Corvallis, and Ben, 38, of Hillsboro.
He was happy, well-loved, and loved by others.
