Ruby Hopper

Ruby Emeline Hopper, 92, of Sweet Home, died Nov. 27, 2014.

She was born May 14, 1922 in Toledo to Raleigh and Veronia

(Folmsbee ) Aplet.

She was raised in Toledo and moved to Sweet Home in 1953. She also lived a brief period of time in Lewiston, Idaho, before settling in Sweet Home. Mrs. Hopper worked at the Cooperage in Toledo during the war. She also worked in bean fields as a row boss, but spent most of her life as a homemaker.

One of her favorite hobbies was making and sewing her quilts. Mrs. Hopper loved quilting, crocheting and enjoyed working in her yard.

She is survived by her son, Wayne Hopper of Sweet Home; daughters Doris Proffitt of Mountain City, Tenn. and Carol Seibert of Sweet Home; sister Irene Huntsucker of Toledo; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merritt Hopper (2004); brothers Lowell Aplet, Albert Aplet and Leon Aplet; and two great-great-grandsons (both in 2013).
