Ruth Annette Edgley, 93, formerly of Sweet Home died June 29, 2006 in Gresham where she had lived near family in her last couple years.
She was born in Tacoma to Merritt W. and Alice R. (Roberts) Johnson. She married George Glenn Edgley Aug. 3, 1931 in Olympia, Wash. They moved to Sweet Home in 1951.
They owned and operated Reliable Welding and Machine Shop until 1975. Mrs. Edgley did the bookkeeping. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Sweet Home Business and Professional Women since 1954, the Christian Business and Professional Women, and was a Sweet Home Ambassador since 1989.
She is survived by her sons and their wives: Warren G. and Chloe Edgley of Wrangell, Alaska, and Richard M. and Mary of Gresham; daughter-in-law: Carol Edgley of Kermit, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends still living in the Sweet Home area.
She is preceded by her husband George and son Michael Edgley.
Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 6, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sweet Home with an hour viewing at the church prior to services. Final burial will be at Lewis Cemetery.
