S.H. teen dies in Calapooia fall

A 17-year-old Sweet Home boy died Sunday evening after an accident 23 miles southeast of Sweet Home on the Calapooia River.

Jeremy Allen Kennedy was fishing with friends with he fell from a 20 to 25 foot cliff into waist deep water, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office report.

Kennedy was pulled from the river by his companions who performed CPR until the Sweet Home Ambulance, rescue team and Crawfordsville substation crew arrived.
