Parents of Sweet Home High School seniors are busy planning the annual SAFE graduation party to be held on June 4 following the graduation ceremony.
The purpose of the party is to provide a safe, alcohol-free alternative to typical graduation parties. Sections of the high school will be transformed to give the students a truly unique experience. Many games, activities, entertainment and chances to win prizes will go on throughout the evening. This annual party has been going on for 20 years and has been well attended by graduates.
Currently, the committee is working on raising funds for the party. Due to overwhelming response, anjother community-wide Bunco party will be held on April 17. Raffle prizes as well as cash prizes will be awarded to winners of this fun and exciting dice game. Anyone 14 years and older is welcome to attend. They do not need to know how to play to join the fun. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from any of the coffee shops in Sweet Home.
Orders are now being taken for the semi-annual sub sandwich sale. The sandwiches are made fresh and ready to eat or frozen. They include a quarter-pound of meat, including salami, turkey, ham and two types of cheese on a six-inch hoagie roll. Sandwiches come six to a package and are sold for $27.50 a dozen. Persons should contact a committee member by March 31 to place an order. Sanwiches will be ready for pickup at Foster cafeteria on April 3 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The community largely supports the efforts of the SAFE party and without the generous businesses and individuals in Sweet home and neighboring communities, it wouldn’t be possible. For more information regarding donating to or helping with the party, persons may contact a committee member.
