Samaritan Health Services on Monday, July 18, opened its first SamCare Mobile Medical facility at Pioneer Villa Truck Plaza, just off the 215 exit on I-5, on Monday, July 18.
The facility will offer convenient walk-in care for people who live, work or travel in the mid-Willamette Valley. Also on-site, Samaritan Occupational Medicine – Brownsville offers a variety of occupational medicine services for health care and testing needed for employment.
The facility will serve the general public as well as professional truck drivers. Housed in a large mobile trailer, it features two exam rooms, a laboratory and X-ray, as well as a waiting area and restroom. It is just the first of several planned SamCare facilities.
“Samaritan strives to provide a full spectrum of health care services to a large and diverse population in our three-county area,” said Samaritan President and CEO Larry Mullins, DHA.
“Mobile medical facilities like SamCare will allow us to reach even more people who can benefit from our services. I am proud of the many fellow Samaritans who helped make this idea a reality and look forward to opening more of these facilities to bring convenient, accessible health care to residents and visitors of our communities.”
Local residents, truck drivers and others traveling through can use the mobile clinic for urgent care for illness or injury such as, but not limited to: sore throat; ear infection/pain; minor cuts/abrasions; minor burns; muscle strains; cold or flu symptoms and sports physicals.
Occupational medicine services will include: Oregon Department of Transportation physicals (Tuesdays only); pre-employment and post-accident drug screenings; breath alcohol tests; laboratory and X-ray services; vaccinations for work and more.
The mobile medical clinic is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Occupational medicine services are offered weekdays from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.
