Sandra Jean (Willis) Nipp passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2013 at the age of 72.
She passed on to her next journey with her children by her side.
She was born on May 21, 1941. Sandy was adopted and raised by her loving parents Thelma E. and Claude V. Willis who treated her as their precious lifetime gift and keepsake. Sandy grew up in Burbank, California before venturing off into adulthood. She spent the majority of her life in Sweet Home and Albany, where she married several times and was a devoted mother, raising five children the best she could.
Her lifetime career opportunities found her delving into nursing, forklift & truck driving and finally being a successful and respected bartender. Known as “Big Red,” her striking auburn hair and tall commanding presence, as well as her impressive work ethic, stood out among her many gifts.
Sandy loved Harley motorcycles and was an avid animal lover taking on any strays and injured animals, nursing them back to health. Her caretaking personality offered a home to anyone in need.
She joins her loving parents; her life partner Ron Johnson and daughter Cheryl Nelson in her next journey.
She leaves behind her children and their spouses: daughter Linda McLellan; son Eric McLellan; step-children Jaylene and Gaylene; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held Nov. 30 at the Albany First Christian Church.
In lieu of flowers, Sandy would have appreciated memorial contributions to SafeHaven Humane Society or Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House, in care of Fisher Funeral Home, 306 SW Washington, Albany, OR 97321.
