Benefit for TNE

Fifty-plus runners and walkers showed up at Sankey Park in 30-degree, rainy weather Saturday morning, Feb. 15, to participate in a run/walk sponsored by the Sweet Home Rotary Club and Steelhead Fitness as a fundraiser for The New Era. The event, organized by Ken Bronson, was a donation-only 10K (6.2 miles) and 5K (3.1 miles) fun run, which got more so once the icy rain stopped and the sun appeared. The event raised $2,670.86, which will go specifically to help with production costs for the newspaper during the rebuilding process. Despite the elements, a good time was had by all.
