Held every week through October from 3-6 p.m., the Brownsville Thursday Market opened on May 1 at the Community Garden, 185 Main St., across from Dari Mart.
In addition to vegetable starts and other plants, vendors on day one were selling coffee beans, eggs, canned food, tea and tea accessories, fresh bread, chocolate truffles, honey, handmade wood furniture, holistic remedies, and meat.
The market, organized by Calapooia Food Alliance, draws in goods from local and area producers, and invites people to go out and soak up the sun.
