Crash Course for SHFAD
Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District staff and volunteers held a full-scale, hands-on extrication drill Thursday, Oct. 23, at the Old Mill property on the north end of 24th Avenue. According to Ryan Paul, recruitment officer for the district, the exercise, which involved vehicles in a pileup, allowed “up-and-coming” officers and volunteers “hands-on training” to work through real-life problems they can encounter at crashes. SHFAD is actively recruiting volunteer firefighters.
