School district needs your input

Editor:

Two community meetings were recently held by the Sweet Home School District as a way of soliciting community input for the district’s long-range strategic plan.

The first of three community meetings was held at Crawfordsville Elementary on April 24 and the second meeting was held at the Sweet Home High School library on April 26.

The final meeting is scheduled at the Foster Elementary cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. on May 5. If you wish to provide input on the development of the School District’s future, you may do so by attending this meeting or by completing an on-line computer survey. The Web survey may be found on the school district Web site (www.sweethome.k12.or.us). The School Board and Strategic Planning Committee want your input, so please attend the May 5 meeting or complete the on-line survey.

Once the community has provided input to the committee, a final draft of the strategic plan will be presented to the School Board. This plan will provide the vision and framework for the development of a five-year action plan for each of the nine areas identified by the School Board. These action plans will be developed by district staff and submitted to the School Board in the fall of 2008.
