School good place for public decency

Editor:

On Friday, March 2, I was dropping my kids off at Oak Heights Elementary School around 8 a.m.

I stopped at the crosswalk and let my kids, as well as other students cross the street. A man behind me began honking, flipping me off and shouting profanities for me to move.

I then parked in front of the school, as did he on the opposite side of the street. He continued yelling and throwing up his arms at me while he was walking his own child to the school door. I reported the incident to the school as well as the police.

Later I found out the man was confronted and let go with a warning. Keep in mind I’m a woman with an 18-month-old and a 6-year-old in the vehicle during the incident with a grown man.

I know for a fact behavior such as that would not be tolerated at a team wrestling match, football or basketball game. So what is going on in our community that this behavior is tolerated, especially at a school in front of our young children?

Shame on you for setting such a poor example as a parent yourself! What a disgrace!
