Scott Alan Walker, 64, of Sweet Home passed away March 28, 2025.
He was born Oct. 15, 1960, to Robert and Diane (Murray) Walker in Whittier, Calif.
Scott grew up in California and graduated in 1979 from Santa Cruz High School. In his 20s, he moved to Montana, where he was a mechanic and then returned to Gilroy, Calif., where he worked his way up to become a manager of Radio Shack.
His career was working as a tax collector for the County of Monterey from 1988 to 2010.
He and his wife Tessie moved to Sweet Home in 2011, becoming members of Elm Street Baptist Church. He was active at church and developed a strong faith in his later years.
Scott volunteered feeding the homeless and at the Senior Center, doing dishes and various tasks.
Scott was always working on his house to make it a beautiful home. He loved the ocean and would collect driftwood to turn it into exquisite furniture.
He was a master craftsman and woodworker. He liked to explore the existential origins of life. He loved the outdoors and taking pictures of nature. He was at home in the forest. His love for the beach and sunsets were displayed throughout his daily life.
Scott is survived by his wife, Tessie Walker of Sweet Home; son Justin Walker and wife Erin of Vancouver; three grandchildren, Jack, Austin and Myles Walker; daughter Chary Walker of Gresham; son Jefferson Walker of Salinas, Calif.; aunt Karen (Walker) Ryan of Missoula, Mont.; uncle Tim Walker of Manhattan Beach.
He was preceded in death by his brother Eric Walker (1994); father Bob Walker (2012); mother Diane Walker (2018); and Uncle Gary Walker (2020).
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at Elm Street Baptist Church in Sweet Home.
