Search warrants result in nine arrests, ongoing investigations

Narcotics-related search warrants resulted in the arrests of nine people in Sweet Home last week and police say investigations may result in more charges.

The first warrant was served Tuesday morning, July 21, at 1238 2nd Ave., and the other two were served simultaneously Wednesday morning, July 22, at 927 27th Ave. and 2416 Harding St.

Six people were arrested Tuesday following a narcotics-related search warrant served at 1238 Second Ave. by Sweet Home Police Department with assistance from the Linn County Regional SWAT team, Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Police Department and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.

When law enforcement arrived, they encountered 11 adults and two minor children inside the home, according to a Sweet Home Police Department statement.

During the investigation, detectives seized methamphetamine, heroin, drug paraphernalia, firearms and suspected stolen property, police said.

Dustin Lee Mulvanny, 38, was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor; and frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Steven Ballweber, 26, was arrested for delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Steven Jones, 27, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of controlled substance, methamphetamine. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

Jay Baker, 18, was charged with frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold. He was cited and released.

Brian Mulvanny, 19, was charged with frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold. He was cited and released.

Tanisha Wilson, 19, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. She was booked cited and released due to jail overcrowding.

Serena Patricio, 41, was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on original charge of possession of a controlled substance and for two counts of endangering the welfare of minor. She was booked cited and released due to jail overcrowding.

Demetrius Scott, 17, was taken into protective custody for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, and frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold. She was lodged at Linn Benton Detention Center.

A female juvenile was released to the custody of her parents.

Two minor children who reside in the home were taken into protective custody by Department of Human Services and placed with relatives.

A narcotics investigation was opened by the Sweet Home Police Department due to reported drug sales by Mulvanny and others who both live at and frequent the residence, according to the statement.

Additional charges are expected and the investigation is continuing, police said.

The two search warrants served Wednesday resulted in three arrests.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., Sweet Home police officers, with assistance from the Linn County Regional SWAT team, Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Police Department and the DEA, served the two search warrants, one at 927 27th Ave. and the second at 2416 Harding St.

At the 27th Avenue location, when law enforcement arrived, they located seven adults on the property.

Matthew Boehm was taken into custody for failure to comply and third-degree theft. He was lodged at Linn County Jail without bail.

Police said the remaining six adults are suspects in controlled substance offenses, pending crime lab analysis of substances and paraphernalia.

During the investigation, detectives seized evidence related to methamphetamine use, according to a department statement.

At the Harding Street address, officers located three adults and two juveniles.

A police statement said that during the investigation, detectives seized methamphetamine, cash and drug records.

Stacy T. Aguilera and Reynaldo Chavez, 57, were both arrested for distribution and possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, within 1,000 feet of a school; two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor; hindering prosecution; and frequenting a place where controlled substances are used or sold.

Chavez also had a warrant for his arrest that had been outstanding since 2007 from Klamath Falls for violation of release agreement on three counts of manufacture of a controlled substance. He was lodged at Linn County Jail.

The two minor children were taken into protective custody and are being cared for by relatives.

In both cases, narcotics investigations were opened by the Sweet Home Police Department due to reported drug sales from the property, according to the statement.
