Second-graders write of spring

Oak Heights teacher Julie Jefferson’s second-grade class has been working on writing poetry and, together, penned the poem at the right. “We are learning the feeling and imagery poetry creates as we read, as well as using smiles and adjectives in our writing to create it in our own poetry,” said Jefferson, adding that she has taught a similar unit in middle school.
