Jess Seiber was named the Huskies most outstanding volleyball player during Thursday night’s awards desert.
Sarah Rosa was named best defensive player. Paige Niemi received the Hustle Award, and Sam Johnson was named most improved.
All-league honors went to Johnson and Seiber, first team, and Rosa, honorable mention.
Earning first-year letters were Cassidy Sullivan, Tana Tyler, Hillary McCartin, Alisha Huschka, Michelle Morneault, Alex Thompson and Sam Johnson. Sarah Rosa and Paige Niemi received their second-year letters.
Jess Seiber received her third-year letter.
The team had a tough year in wins and losses, but “you girls know what we’ve done and all the wonderful times we had,” Coach Debbie Danielson said. The team played competitively and didn’t give into opponents.
The team was young, with five sophomores and just two who returned with significant playing time last year, Danielson said. Four seniors depart this year, including Seiber, Thompson, Morneault and Rosa.
It was a tough season, but it was never one where she felt, “when is this season going to be over,” Danielson said.
At the junior varsity level, Vienney Santana was named most inspirational. Jessica Blankenship was most improved. Katie Nicholson received the Best Hustle Award. Bailey Riggs received the Best Defense Award. Tasha Saunders received the Best Offense Award. The team included freshmen and sophomores.
A JV 2 team, roughly the equivalent of a freshman team, finished with an 8-1 record.
