Sen. Girod undergoes surgery on throat tumor

State Sen. Fred Girod (R-Stayton) underwent surgery Tuesday, Oct. 2, to remove a tumor in his throat.

Doctors are “pleased with the results” and expect him to make a full recovery, according to a statement released by the state Senate Office.

“I know that each member of the Senate wishes Senator Girod a speedy recovery,” said Senate President Peter Courtney (D-Salem/Gervais/Woodburn). “He and his family have our full support.”
