Sweet Home’s football players faced off with Philomath and Scio in a jamboree Friday night, Aug. 28, at Scio. Coach Dustin Nichol emphasized that the point of the event was primarily to give players time on the field and said all of his varsity and JV players got in for at least five plays. “I thought we did OK,” he said. “I thought when we had our starters out there, we held our own.” The exercise helped coaches as they prepare the depth chart for Crook County Friday, Sept. 4, which will be on the road instead of at home (see Football Preview).
