SH girls fall to Cascade’s aggressive all-around play

Taking advantage of their size and dominating the boards, the Cascade Cougars defeated the Huskies 67-31 Friday night in Sweet Home.

Cascade led 18-6 after one quarter and 34-13 at halftime. Cascade led 47-21 at the end of the third quarter.

“Cascade’s a very good team, and we’re still trying to figure a few things out,” said Coach John Barnes. “But we’re getting closer.”

The Huskies turned the ball over just 15 times in the game, but they gave up 17 offensive boards to the taller Cougars, Barnes said.

The Huskies will open league play Friday night at home against Sisters, Barnes said. The Huskies are excited about league play and believe they’ll have a few good opportunities during league.

Sisters is 3-8 and running with a new coach and system.

The Huskies are 2-6.

Tuesday, the Huskies will travel to Cottage Grove, 2-10.
