SH man allegedly stabbed in fight with ‘friend’

A Sweet Home man sustained “life-threatening” stab wounds allegedly suffered during a fight with a friend, Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley said Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Riley said deputies responded Monday, Jan. 26, at 8:10 p.m. to a residence on River Drive in Lebanon. They found that Sean David McKee, 26, of Lebanon had been involved in an altercation with a “friend,” Anthony Allen Ensley, 32, of Sweet Home, Riley said.

During the altercation, McKee stabbed Ensley, who was unarmed, several times with a folding pocket knife that contained a 4-inch blade, inflicting “life-threatening stab wounds” to Ensley’s neck and back of the skull, Riley said.

Ensley was transported to Lebanon Community Hospital and later transferred to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis, where he was listed in stable condition.

Riley said McKee’s mother, Karen Mae McKee, 48, of Lebanon, who owns the home, received “numerous minor injuries and superficial stab wounds.” She was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Sean McKee was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was lodged for attempted murder, assault in the first degree, and assault in the second degree.

The investigation is ongoing as to a motive for the assault, Riley said.
