The Huskies dominated Monroe in softball March 19 on the road, winning 12-1 in five innings under the 10-run rule.
The Dragons scored one run in the first quarter, but the Huskies answered with run after run, leading 6-1 after the first inning. The Huskies went on to score five runs in the second and one in the third.
These are just a great group of hard-working players,” said Coach Gary Barr.
Monroe lost a lot of senior players last year, Barr said. They were “a little bit on the inexperienced side and that they will be a good team with progress.”
They will be ready for their next game, Barr said, and they will do their best to fight on and do well in league and go on to win a championship.
The Huskies are 5-1. They move on to the four-game Mac-Hi Tournament Thursday and Friday and host their league opener Monday against Elmira.
