Shadow Hills tests golfers

Shadow Hills Golf Course in Junction City proved to be a “difficult test” for Sweet Home’s golfers on April 1 in a five-way tournament that included three Sky-Em teams.

The Huskies placed third, behind Reedsport (348) and Cottage Grove (400) with a 408 team score. La Pine (424) and Junction City (439) rounded out the team scores.

Casey Horner led Sweet Home with a 94 and Stephen Bishop shot 96, the only Huskies to finish under 100.

Montana Frame shot 73 to lead Reedsport, which is “an outstanding team,” Sweet Home Coach Ken Anderson said.

The Huskies were scheduled to compete in the Bandon Dunes Tournament on Monday after a practice round on Old McDonald on Sunday.

That’s a “tremendous opportunity for our young team,” Anderson said.
