Sharry Mae Stitzell, 61, of Lebanon, died, Saturday at the Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital following acute respiratory failure.
Sharry was born January 23, 1956 in International Falls, Minnesota. She moved to Oregon as a child, settling in Sweet Home and graduating from Sweet Home High School.
Sharry met Michael Stitzell while working at a resort in Minnesota. They were married on April 21, 1979 in Sweet Home, Oregon. They resided in Iowa before returning to Oregon, living in Albany before settling in Lebanon.
Sharry was a longtime member of Community Chapel in Sweet Home. Her church family, Bible study groups and an unwavering trust in our God were of utmost importance to her. She loved children and enjoyed babysitting.
She was an avid quilter and enjoyed making many quilts for friends and their children. Sharry also enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and loved to can the fruits of her labor.
She is survived by her husband Michael, son Chance, father and step-mother Philip and Sheryl Hyatt Sr., brother and his wife Philip and Nicki Hyatt, Jr., sister and her husband Dawn and Wayne Siebold. She was preceded in death by her mother Audrey and brother Tim Hyatt.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 20, at the Community Chapel in Sweet Home. Huston-Jost Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
