The Sweet Home Economic Development Group announced Tuesday, July 8, that 2025 will be the final year for its Oregon Jamboree.
This year’s festival will be the 34th and final event.
The Board of Directors released a press release Tuesday announcing their decision to end its 30-plus run on the annual festival
“While this is not an announcement the board wanted to have to make, as one of the last remaining nonprofit country music festivals in the country, we are deeply proud of the positive contributions we have made to our community and the memories we have helped create for festival attendees over the years,” said Heather Search, president of the SHEDG Board of Directors.
Founded in 1992 as an economic development project for Sweet Home, the festival was created to support a rural community that had seen significant layoffs and mill closures. The board stated that for the last 34 years they have been proud to support and fulfill that mission of rural economic development and giving back to our community, generating millions in economic activity for our local area.
“Even with widespread community support and volunteers, the economic realities of running a music festival no longer serve our mission to support rural economic development in the Willamette Valley,” Search said. “While our board of directors has made the difficult decision that 2025 will be the final year of the Oregon Jamboree, we are looking forward to celebrating our storied history and enjoying some good country music with you all at this year’s festival.”
Vice President Rob Poirier extended thanks to the volunteers, sponsors, community partners, artists and staff for their dedication to the event and community.
“You are the ones who made the Oregon Jamboree special for three and a half decades, and you are the ones who will keep its memory alive for years to come,” he said.
The last festival in Sweet Home will be Aug. 1-3, 2025, featuring Clay Walker, Shane Smith and the Saints, and Jordan Davis.
