Shelley Smith and Kevin Strong were married during an evening candlelight service at the Sweet Home Community Chapel on Dec. 19 with Rob Younger officiating.
The bride is the daughter of John and Wendy Smith of Sweet Home. The groom is the son of Don and Eileen Strong of Forest Grove.
Matron of honor was Jennifer Winn, a friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Beth Stein and Bailey Davis.
Best man was Matt Mandrones, a friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Wes Smith and Chase Davis.
Alyse Fountain was the flower girl, and John Winn was the ring-bearer.
Following the ceremony, the couple rode to the reception at Sweet Home High School in the groom’s father’s 1929 Model A sedan.
The couple’s honeymoon included a Christmas Caribbean cruise, attending a Portland Trailblazers game in Miami and a visit to Disney World.
Mrs. Strong is a graduate of Sweet Home High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Western Oregon University and her master’s degree in teaching from Willamette University. She is a fourth-grade teacher for the Salem-Keizer School District.
Mr. Strong is a graduate of Forest Grove High School. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Puget Sound. He is the business manager for School District 55.
They live in Sweet Home.
