Sherry L. Wright-Grant, 61, of Selah, Wash., formerly of Sweet Home, died June 25 at her home.
She was born March 2, 1950 in Sweet Home to Gordon D. and Lorraine (Stark) Wright.
She grew up in Sweet Home, attended school in Holley and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1968. She was baptized in the Holley Church during her teens. After high school she attended Oregon State University.
In 1971 she moved to Yakima, Wash. She had various jobs, including fruit picking, medical training, hop processing and brewing.
She married Bert Grant and they built Yakima Malting as well as the Brew Pub in an old railroad depot in Yakima. The couple eventually divorced. Later she worked in sales until she suffered an injury in 1999.
Mrs. Wright-Grant volunteered at a clothing bank and food share. Her great joy of her life was her birds.
She is survived by her mother, Lorraine M. Wright of Sweet Home; sister Jeanette Wright Vandiver of Camp Verde, Ariz.; brother Kris Wright Sr. of Sweet Home; numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews and beloved neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon D. Wright in 1998; and brother Gordon Bruce Wright in 2002.
A memorial service was held July 11 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
