Friday, Nov. 3, was the real kickoff assembly for Sweet Home High School’s canned food and penny drive, as well as its entry into the football playoff bracket. At left, Leadership students, from left, Anna Coleman, Samantha Coats, Shahaylee Erickson, Aliyah Boss, Marissa Kurtz and Ashley Farthing carry duct tape strips loaded with change donated by students and teachers for the penny drive, which will buy turkeys and other items not collected in the canned food drive, which ends Thursday, Nov. 9. The penny drive runs through Nov. 17.
