These Sweet Home Junior High School students, with teacher Trey Hagen, in rear, were award winners at the Willamette Valley Scholastic Art Competition, held Jan. 14-Feb. 5 at the Benton County Historical Museum in Philomath. Three won gold keys, the highest award and qualified for a chance to move on to the national competition. Aurora Sherwood received one of only three American Vision Awards from the 161 entries displayed at the museum. The contest drew some 500 entries, Hagen said. From left are Jacob Shook (Silver Key), Robert Grant (Honorable Mention), Sierrah Owen (Silver Key), Sherwood (Gold Key), Caroline Huss (Gold Key) and Jake Richardson (Honorable Mention). Not pictured is Morgan Arreguin, who also received a Gold Key.
