An incident that included gunfire between police and a suspect closed Highway 20 near River Bend County Park Monday evening, Aug. 3.
According to Oregon State Police, OSP troopers and Linn County Sheriff’s deputies responded at 7:25 p.m. to a location near Milepost 36, to a report of a motor vehicle crash and a disturbance involving a firearm.
Arriving officers encountered an individual armed with a handgun. During a confrontation, shots were fired, OSP reopirted.
The suspect, who was not named in intial reports, was injured and is now in custody. No officers were injured.
The highway was excpected to be open this morning following an investigation, which is being led by Albany Police Department.
