The Sweet Home Police Department has dedicated a police officer to solving a recent string of crimes.
“We brought an officer off the road to look into the recent burglaries, thefts and stolen vehicles,” said Sgt. Jason Van Eck. “He just started on Tuesday. He’s gathering information and statistics.
“At this point he’s trying to develop leads and information that would help solve some of the cases.”
“He’s made some progress,” said Police Chief Jeff Lynn. “We have high hopes, and he’s actively working on it.”
Two Honda automobiles were reported stolen last week, and in recent weeks, several businesses have been burglarized, including the Bohemian Tavern, Ma’s Restaurant and Sunshine Espresso, along with several residential burglaries.
