Sieminski wins state middle school wrestling title; 3 other Tigers place

Cody Sieminski won a state title and Ava Gaspard was second for Sweet Home March 14-15 at the Oregon Middle School State Championships held at South Albany High School. 

Sieminski, an eighth-grader, registered two falls and two tech falls on his way to the 102-pound title, pinning Luke Provost of Crook County Middle School in 47 seconds in the final.

Gaspard, a seventh-grader, pinned her way to the final before falling to North Albany’s Naveen Edmiston in the 120-pound girls final. 

Also placing for the Tigers was eighth-grader Macen Rosa, who was sixth at 125 pounds. 

For the girls, seventh-grader Raylene Allison placed sixth as well. 

Also qualifying for state and competing in the tournament for the Sweet Home boys were seventh-grader Wylee Farris (75), eighth-grader Ryder Farris (80), eighth-grader Kaleb Fortune (110), eighth-grader Brayden Driver (117) and eighth-grader Halen Salvador (220).

Other qualifiers for the girls were seventh-grader Alevia Weikel (90), eighth-grader Kassidy Zajic (95), seventh-graderJoselyn Barnes (105) and eighth-grader Hailey Ayala (155).
