Singing Tree practices underway

The 2004 Singing Christmas Tree Choir adult choir practices beganTuesday at the Sweet Home High School choir room from 7-9 p.m.

Anyone with the desire to sing in harmony and have a great time preparing for and participating in the annual production is welcome at practices.

Director for the TREE is Paul Rowton. Assisting him will be assistant director David Dominy and accompanist Bill Langdon. Adult vocalists and young adults over age 12 are encouraged to join the adult choir. More information is available from Sue Olson, the choir’s business coordinator at 367-4639 or email [email protected]

The Singing Christmas Tree will present its 23rd annual performance on December 3, 4, and 5, in connection with the CHRISTMAS IN SWEET HOME weekend celebrations. The production has room on its schedule for a few additional side performers. Anyone who is interested in being considered for a spot can call Ms. Olson at the above number.

Theme of the 2004 production is “The Magic Of the Christmas Star” and all songs and numbers must reflect the theme.

There is a Children’s Choir for singers younger than junior high school age. Children’s Choir director is Deb Cooley, who can be reached at 367-6039 or at Deb and Beth’s Hair and Nail Boutique in Sweet Home. Contact Ms. Cooley for times of Children’s Choir practices.

Members organizing the annual event are looking forward to a great year. They are excited that the entire weekend in Sweet Home will be geared toward the same theme. The return of the annual daytime Christmas Parade on Saturday morning and a Lighted Float Display on Saturday evening will follow the lighting of the Sweet Home Community Holiday Tree making Sweet Home the place to be on December 4, 2004.
