The Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District (SHFAD) responded to a call of a single vehicle roll-over in the 25300 block of Brush Creek Road, Aug 30.
According to the on scene Battalion Chief Eli Harris the vehicle, with a single male occupant and a dog, appeared to have lost control before ending up on its passenger side in the ditch. This vehicle was traveling southbound on Brush Creek Road.
Prior to the arrival of SHFAD, a passerby stopped their vehicle and attempted to help. The driver was able to hand over their dog, and the passerby presumably took the animal to the closest animal hospital.
The driver, Martin Wilson, 50, of Springfield, was able to step into the medic unit after extraction according to Harris.
The driver was taken to Lebanon Community Hospital under trauma system entry protocols, but had sustained minor injuries. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office took over the scene.
The investigation is ongoing as the cause of the crash has still been unidentified.
