SLCH employees give record donations

Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital employees have donated a record-breaking $78,000 to the Lebanon Community Hospital Foundation and more than $9,200 to United Way this year.

Each year, hospital employees participate in a fund-raising drive, the Samaritan Employee Caring Campaign, to support the hospital’s foundation and United Way of Linn County.

Proceeds to the foundation will help purchase medical equipment and fund other projects for the hospital, its clinics and Wiley Creek Community and provide emergency assistance to employees who need immediate help.

“We are so grateful to all of our employees for their great generosity,” said Betty Koehn, LCH Foundation Director. “The foundation set an ambitious goal of $70,000 for the Employee Caring Campaign, and in these uncertain economic times, it is especially meaningful and inspiring to see our employees respond so generously. We feel fortunate to have such dedicated employees who care so much about this hospital and the east Linn community.”

All five hospitals within the Samaritan Health Services system participate in the Samaritan Employee Caring Campaign every October. The combined total raised across the system this year, also a new record, was $435,000 for the Samaritan hospital foundations and $40,000 for United Way of Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties.
