Society paying for ignoring God

Editor:

We’ve taken God of the Bible out of our schools and we’re reaping the aftermath. When people no longer feel deep within that we have an all knowing God that we have to give an account to, there is no fear of consequences.

Death by any means does not remove us from the eventual Day of Judgment before God.

There is a conscious awareness that goes on for eternity and if we do not seek forgiveness and believe that Jesus died a substitutionary death to pay the penalty for our sins then we will stand guilty on Judgment Day. Our belief and behavior determines whether that we will be in Heaven or Hell.

Another concern I have is for the Christian radio station available in Sweet Home by a relay on Green Peter Mountain. For years it was in a building owned by Bend Cable on Green Peter. They did not charge for the space in the building or the electricity.

Bend Cable has sold their building and the new owner wants $100 per month rent. KNLR, its employees and family members are prevented by FCC from owning and paying for the operating costs of the translator since it is outside of KLNR’s protected area. KLNR (FM 105 from relay) from Bend is owned by Terry Cowan who was raised in Sweet Home and went to school at Foster Elementary.

The translator is owned by Gospel Echo who is responsible for paying the new rent. Gospel Echo is a 501c3 whose mission is to bring Christian radio to areas that do not have a local religious oriented station. As a non-profit, they rely on gifts from listeners to pay the expenses.

Gifts may be sent to Gospel Echo, P.O. Box 996, Seaside, OR 97138.
