On offense, “Olivia Lake had a big day, going 2-2 with a double and a triple,” Hummer said. “(Michelle) Cliver and Marchbanks both were 3-4, with Cliver collecting one RBI and Marchbanks two.”

Sweet Home 6, Stayton 0
The Huskies defeated Stayton 6-0 on Thursday at home.
“We put together a great string of at-bats and were able to take advantage of a mistake,” Hummer said. “Our kids really came out aggressively. It was nice to see us be so aggressive.”
The Huskies scored six runs on six hits, with one double, three stolen bases and one error in the second inning. Idahna Huenergardt hit a triple.
“Marchbanks pitched very well again,” Hummer said. “She has averaged 10 strikeouts a game before tonight, but Stayton did a great job putting the ball in play tonight.
“Our defensive was outstanding though, and we earned a big win for us. This game was very important after losing to Cascade and Molalla in very close games to start league.”
Marchbanks walked no one, struck out four batters and gave up six hits.
