Sorry for incorrect info in obituary

Editor:

The William Johnson family wishes to apologize for the incorrect date for the service in the copy of Bill’s obituary that we gave to The New Era.

You might think the members of a teacher’s family, and an English teacher no less, would have gotten it right.

Bill didn’t believe in using red ink to correct his students’ papers. We know so well that if he had proofread the obituary, all mistakes would have been noted with a small check mark in blue ink. And he would have added a paragraph on the value of “careful proof reading.”

We hear his words and will remember this lesson.
