I’m not often one to be speechless, but Saturday night at the 68th Annual Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet, I certainly was. I was sitting in a room of amazing, giving, community-minded people and had come to the banquet to show my support to my good friend who had been nominated for an award. Turns out, I had been set up.
To be given the award of Jr. First Citizen is not only an honor, but it is quite humbling. People that give of themselves to this community don’t do so in order to win awards, they do so because they love the people. This community is filled with giving, loving, generous people who will jump at the chance to help whenever the call arises.
I am blessed beyond words to live in such a wonderful place. I thank you for the award, and for the privilege of working alongside such an outstanding group of people. Sweet Home is an amazing place, and I am proud to call it home.
