Brittany Nicholson, 18, is the daughter of Mauri and Shani Nicholson and Jessica and Travis Johnson.
She graduated from high school on June 3. She has three siblings, Rylan Johnson, 4; Riley Nicholson, 4; and Ricki Nicholson, 6 months.
“I joined as an opportunity to serve our community more, be a role model,” Nicholson said. “And, come on, who doesn’t want to be a princess?”
Nicholson appreciates how close the community of Sweet Home is, she said. “Also it is just absolutely beautiful in Sweet Home.”
Nicholson is a member of the National Honor Society and Students in Ministry at Commuity Chapel. She also is active in her youth group.
This fall, she will attend Western Oregon University and study elementary education. After earning her bachelor’s degree in education, she plans to earn her master’s degree.
“I would love to come back to Sweet Home to teach kindergarten,” Nicholson said.
She said that by being members of the court, the princesses serve in many ways.
“We volunteer and set up many events,” Nicholson said. “We also serve as role models to many. Having a good role model makes all the difference.
“I think this court has a great impact to the community of Sweet Home.
“I know while growing up, I always looked up to the princesses and set goals to be like them.”
