Sprenger will run again in ’10

Representative Sherrie Sprenger announced last week that she filed for her candidacy for re-election of Oregon State Representative of House District 17, which includes Sweet Home and east Linn County.

“I’m honored that the citizens in my district put their faith in me to represent their needs and concerns in Salem,” she said. “Being the voice for House District 17 continues to be my priority. Though I was able to accomplish a great deal in the past legislative session, there is still much work to be done.”

“We need to ensure that everything we are doing in the legislature is guided by common sense,” said Rep. Sprenger. “This is especially important during these difficult economic times when people are really struggling. During this interim and as we look to next session, my focus will continue to be on finding ways to improve the economy and encourage job growth.”

Representative Sprenger serves on the House Revenue Committee and is the Vice-Chair of the House Education Committee.

She was also recently appointed to Western States Forestry Task Force and the Public Education Appropriation Committee. In the 2009 Legislative Session, she was appointed Assistant Republican Whip.
